In order to produce a good quality item we need to use a factory with expertise in the type of construction we are looking for.
We currently can count on a network of over 80 factories ( between Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Tunisia) constantly up-to-date.
This way we can always find the right manufacturer for the type of product and the price level we are looking for.
But our pride is our Q.C. department where, in order to ensure a consistent quality on the products, we have invested a great deal of both human and financial resources.
All our inspectors are shoe technician and have worked at some stage of their career in a shoe factory so that in many cases they not only can spot an issue on the product but they can also suggest a remedy. Our Q.C. procedure starts inspecting the various components before are shipped to the factories so that if a problem arise we can try to correct it before is too late. In this regards I wish to point out that we like to follow the making of the moulds when a new sole is needed as well as the tanning of the leather as these components are the ones that statistically are creating the biggest problems.
We than follow all the production stages keeping the customers informed if any problem is found on any part of the shoe.
The products are then inspected while they are going through the lines and finally we make an additional random inspection after the goods is delivered to the shipping agent to make sure that some of the defective goods we might have rejected during previous inspections are not put back into the shipment.
Following to each of the above inspection our Q.C. fills a form in where they record all the relevant information (number of pairs inspected, number of rejects, reason for rejection, step taken to correct a fault etc...).
This system has proven to be working very well avoiding almost completely the claims on delivered products. During this extensive quality inspections we also gather information on the status of every order, so that the office can fill a weekly order status report that if requested can be sent to the customer. These reports allow us to be aware well before the shipping date which are the orders that are running the risk of delays, advise the customer and take the necessary steps to minimize the problem. |
